So many smaller cbd oil companies are using solvents other than CO2 extraction because it is cheaper and they can extract way more cbd oil out of the hemp plants. Some of these solvents they are using destroys the plant chemistry and constituents. It's like some of these companies don't care of the therapeutic value of the oils are denatured and destroyed.
Note: Just enough heat to extract the stage 2 constituents is fine but if companies are using solvents and high heat and higher pressure that will destroy the constituents then I avoid those companies that are doing this.
On some of the full spectrum brands that have low yielding strains, it is very expensive to use CO2 as critical CO2 does not get all the low yielding cbd oil out of the plant.
The companies using extraction methods that don't use critical CO2 will have to buy a lot less hemp from the farmers and it will cost a lot less. And using lower pressure and lower heat gets out much less oil so many companies have no choice if they are going to make a big profit to use use these extreme extraction methods.
Note: if companies are using hexane or butane make sure it's the type that doesn't have heavy metals. Make sure its food grade.
